Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble…full of candy and sweet treats! We were completely bewitched by our Halloween photoshoot this year with all the beautiful craftsmanship from our contributors and gorgeous sweet work from some very talented bakers. It’s always truly amazing to me when you hand over a concept in a graphic where the creativity leads! Totally in love with this bewitching halloween party and everything in it.
This year’s ‘Bewitching’ Halloween started with a few silhouettes of the seasonal sort that were then wrapped in argyle and spooky patterns for a classic look. Much gratitude to the Berzsenyi family who allowed Heather Stine Photography and I to photograph in their 100-year-old house while under restoration.
Our little guests arrived at the front door candy bags in hand. The delightful costumes worn by the girls were created by Debra at Patti Fabulous. I love the little feathered hat worn by Ella Rae!
JP Creatiblesused our set design as a starting point and created the amazingly beautiful cookies. Each was a little work of art decorated to perfection.
Inside the party room, the bewitched table was laden with sweets. Andrea of Contemporary Cakery provided us with so many gorgeous goodies! The children couldn’t help but squeal with all the delights. My favorite were the chocolate chip pumpkins with cream cheese frosting on the inside — all with different jack-o-lantern faces. She also provided batty black velvet whoopie pies and the scary spider cake pops.
Using the witch silhouette graphic, Vicki of Laugh Loud Smile Big made the little muslin treat bags by creating an iron-on. They were just perfect for holding a stylish handful of treats!
The little harlequin and pumpkin fondant toppers were created by Lynlee’s Petite Cakes and finished off our cupcake display under the witch hat perfectly. Keeping all these goodies company were our dangerous donut skewers—on DIY witches brooms, and some “perfectly poisonous parfait” topped with tiny DIY witch hats…tutorials on creating these tiny treats can be found here!
This detail was one of my favorites; Southern Belle’s Charmcreated the beautiful beautiful paper wreath for us, along with the paper fan-style picks with bewitching graphics for the dessert table. They were the perfect compliment to the decor!
And what’s a party without a little bit of fun? We had a face paint artist, Debra Heuskin Face and Body Artist, paint the girls’ faces with flair. There was also a donut eating contest—the contestants couldn’t use their hands and the donuts were strung from the doorway. I admit, this was a bight more fun for the adults to watch than it should have been.
As our guests were leaving they were welcome to pick up a treat bag or two. A bewitching cake by Contemporary Cakery served as the centerpiece along with take-home bagged and bowed sugar cookies.”
