Let the Ghoul Times Roll

WhOOooOOoo’s up for a little glow-in-the-dark halloween fun this year?

I am.

It’s a tricky balance you have to strike when throwing a halloween party with just the right amount of spook for the very young.  Black lights and glowing dishes (food too!) provide the level of scariness that can make a party fun, but not have your younger guests racing back to the minivans! This Mardi Gras inspired Halloween party styled by Nicole Willis at Tikkido.com brings on all the fun without the scare. She was excited to build on a concept originated by Posh Productions, LLC.

You may be wondering the trick to all this awesome glowing servingware. I was. It turns out it’s vaseline glass! There’s a little flourescent plasticware thrown in too. You can learn all about it and other great tricks to making your party glow a Tikkido.com.

Now you see them…

Now they glow!

Did you know that with a very easy trick even your food can glow? It’s as simple as a dissolved vitamin B tablet in your mix.  Full details and how-tos can be found at Festivites magazine.

Do you think if you drank that your tummy would glow? That line might get the fun rolling!

Too pretty to eat…almost. Scary skull cake pops created by Jennifer at Heavenly Cake Pops.

Homemade play dough is so easy to make the kids could successfully help out. Helping, in any way they can, ramps up the anticipation of the party SO much for kids.  It makes it more meaningful and memorable to them as time passes as well. It takes some extra time and a few dropped bowls, but in the end it’s really worth it.  A detailed tutorial to making this glowing play dough can be found here at Festivites Magazine.

Happy Haunting!
