Backyard Photo Scavenger Hunt – Free Printables!

backyard scavenger hunt-1Finding things for the kids to do to keep them engaged (and out of trouble!) all summer can be an adventure all on its own. It’s always good to have a few things up your sleeve to keep their little hands occupied so you can keep the peace! For Design Dazzle’s Summer Camp this year, I came up with a Backyard Photo Scavenger Hunt.

backyard scavenger hunt-2 backyard scavenger hunt-5You give your kids a list and a camera, and let them wander through the yard finding everything and taking pictures of the items. It’s a good hour to hour and a half adventure!

Good idea to borrow books first before purchasing them. We have at least one book at home that our J is not quite ready for, and maybe I don't like that much either ;). This is a very comprehensive list! Tks for sharing!

We are fixing to move to a new house that has a HUGE back yard. I think this would be a great idea for getting them use to their new yard.

I love this! I love that the printable includes areas to paste in the pictures later. It's an awesome keepsake for kids!

Thanks, Cheryl! The camera part was fun, but it took them ages to find everything and they had such a good time hunting--and we got to make the activity take even longer by putting the photos in a journal
