Holiday Cheer Christmas Dinner Party Inspiration

Holiday Cheer Christmas Dinner Party Inspiration

If you’re like most of us across the country, you’re deep into decking the halls or prepping for a Christmas dinner party or two. Once the Christmas decorating done, the entertaining needs to be easy!  Christmas Dinner Party Inspiration buffet

A Christmas dinner party should always be full of wassil and cheer, not worry and stress, and here are a few holiday dinner party ideas from my “Holiday Cheer” table setting  to help you along the way.

Christmas Dinner Party Inspiration easy table setting

Keep the Christmas dinner table settings simple

Sitting down to dinner with family and friends during the holiday season has its own sort of magical glow about it. The companionship, the swath of colorful decorations and the pure glitter of the season makes these meals all the more enjoyable. To inspire that same sense of holiday cheer this season, add a little shining gold and a few DIY touches to make your gathering all the more memorable!

You can’t forget the table settings themselves when we’re talking holiday dinners. White tablecloths are always a great base linen. Layer a sequined gold runner, gold chargers and a mirrored tray filled with candles for sparkle.

Gold chargers from the craft store are easy to find, inexpensive, and can easily be changed to match a different theme later on!   Use white plates, napkins and crystal to add some easy elegance to your table. Top your napkins with simple DIY rosemary wreaths to add a festive fragrance and accent and you’ll be ready to host an unforgettable Christmas dinner party.

Christmas Dinner Party Inspiration upcycled tray

Upcycle for new Christmas serving pieces

When you set out a signature seasonal cocktail like this Christmas Kiss Cocktail, whip up a few crafty trays to serve them on. The ones used here are actually recycled picture frames picked up from the local thrift store, washed, painted and repurposed for serving.

For this upcycled serving piece, I painted a few wooden “feet” from the craft store and glued them to the bottom of a framed piece of gold wrapping paper. It’s interesting and completely customizable!

See the tutorial on how to make these Upcycled Serving Trays here.

Add a few floral touches

Decorating with flowers is a must! A big bunch of red and while blossoms always looks wonderful as a centerpiece. Evergreens in a vase are also a classic look and easy to throw together.

Christmas Martini Dinner Party Inspiration

Pick a signature drink for your Christmas dinner party

A signature drink is always a perfect (and easy) way to make guests feel special. Make one big batch and shake these Christmas Kiss cocktails in a martini shaker with ice as you’re serving them. Click here for more Christmas Cocktail recipe ideas!

Christmas-Dinner-Party appetizer inspiration

Christmas party appetizer ideas

Interesting appetizers are always appreciated before the big meal. Try these herbed goat cheese and pecan bites; they’re drizzled in honey and the tang of the cranberries give them a wonderful flavor.

One or two appetizers is all you need for a dinner party. A cheese or crudite tray – something you just have to plate up – and one appetizer that is delicious but easy.

So kind of you, Chloe! I do love decorating with an abundance of gold during the holidays. Reminds me of how rich my life is--if at least metaphorically!

Talk about the Wow factor! It looks very expensive and time-consuming. Happy to know that wasn't the case. Love, love, love that mirrored tray!
