{Real Party} Aqua and Orange Chevron Giraffe First Birthday Party

We recently had the pleasure of working with Marie on designing a set in chevron and polka dots for her little girl Lauren’s 1st birthday party. Lauren is a big fan of her Vulli Sophie La Giraffe, so that had to be in there as well! We supplied a few items to her and she was able to use them all in many different ways to achieve a truly custom look to her party. Talk about a crafty mamma! This party was originally posted at my good friend Lili’s blog at swanky::chic::fete…you can go there to see the complete set of pictures from this stunner of an event.

I love how she used the custom circles to personalize her cups, party hats and boxes, and even used them for cupcake toppers, too! And I’m also a huge fan of all the coordinating fabric she was able to find–she used fabric.com for the fun chevron prints! Be sure to see the rest of the photos at swanky::chic::fete.

Little Pumpkin Fall Harvest Party

Little Pumpkin Birthday Party

Having a fall birthday is a perfect reason to celebrate pumpkin style! The fall has it’s own spectrum of wonderful decorations that make a seasonal ‘Little Pumpkin’ party so much more fun. Ellen of Ellen Bessette Events styled this fabulous homage to the pumpkin patch for our little Maddy. There were lots of treats, cider, s’mores, apple bobbing, and of course pumpkins. Thank you to Jill Luecht Photography for photoediting.

I have to say, it’s a hard thing to turn a Florida back yard in August to a beautiful fall scene, but Ellen did it with flair. Straw bales, autumn leaves, mums and scarecrows dotted the yard with a punches of color. I especially love the wreath she hand crafted to hang over the dessert table. The pretty arbor the table was set in was swathed in leaf garlands and the table covered in another handmade creation, a pom-pom trimmed tablecloth.

Sweet treats from Lynlee’s Petite Cakes (fondant toppers) and The Cookie Jar (sugar cookies) starred on the table along with cinnamon flavored popcorn, lollipops and rock candy treats.

The kid-sized table used a pumpkin filled with flowers as the centerpiece. Ellen made the party hats from scrapbook paper, maribou and ribbon for the little ones to wear. To decorate the backs of the chairs, she used oversized felt pumpkins and tulle to create a chair swag that really popped!

A sweet little smash cakes with a pumpkin top from Something Sweet Cake Studio sat on top of the straw bales that lined the party area along with some cinnamon sticks and cider to wash it all down!

Our little Maddy made an appearance to eat some birthday cake in a little pumpkin tutu and matching hairband byTiti’s Tutus .

Ellen’s fun and colorful fall party stylings were truly enjoyed by the children as they ate, drank and played games!

This set is available in the shop here ~ and without the birthday theme for classrooms by request!

{New to Shop} A Beach Baby Birthday

Sandy toes and sunkissed cheeks are always the best part about an adventure at the beach, and I just couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate a little beach baby’s birthday than to be out on the sand.

After meeting at the Central Florida Martha Stewart Dreamers into Doers event, Jennifer from Party Dreamz started to working on this “Beach Baby Birthday” piece. We designed a table setting and a dessert/snack table and picked the best back drop ever–the beach–to have our party. Thanks to Jill from Luecht Photography for photo-editing our pictures – a service she now offers internationally! Renee from Bees Knees Creative supplied the gorgeous cookies, and Debra from Titi’s Tutu’s the girl’s headbands and pink tutu.

The table was set in pretty pinks and yellows with glittery shells and pearly pinwheels. Each child had a glittered place card at their seat along with a party hat, pink plate and sparkly napkin. Our little birthday girl, Taylor, just loved wearing the tutu and headband from Titi’s Tutus that was made just for her! The older girls adored the headbands that matched the party as well.

A big part about having a party at the beach is making sure everything you bring doesn’t fly away in the ocean breeze. Our table cloth was weighted down with these ties at each corner. I simply gathered the material, wrapped the corner in jute and glued two shells to another string of jute and tied it on. Pretty AND functional!

After a while, our little models got restless and tired of being shooed away from the sweets, so they took a fully-clothed dip in the ocean. The sandcastle cake was graciously provided by Susan at Sweet Designs Kitchen in Orlando.

The children were treated to a snack table with fruit, star shaped cheese “sand”wiches, a bucket of goldfish to scoop out with a shovel and into little snack cups and a few really special treats. The marshmallows were served in tiny tin buckets and set in a do-it-yourself “zen garden” for kids. The little fork and spook were there to groom the sand with! Renee from Bees Knees Creative sent a set of pink and white sea-themed cookies with sea shells and starfish to match the party.

One of my favorite details of this shoot was the ribbon garland. It helped to create a sense of intimacy on a very public beach, and looked magical with the breeze caught the streamers. The construction was simple; pvc pipe, some cut up strips of fabric, and a few lengths of ribbon added a lot of atmosphere to our day!

Thank you again to all those who assisted in the production of this photo shoot!

{Real Party} Pretty and Paisley 1st Birthday

I fell in love with paisley the minute Ashley handed me the designs. My love was deepened once I saw the beautiful work that Ellen from Whimsical Mod Parties did in styling her daughters Madeleine’s Dol Celebration.

So what is a Dol Celebration? In Ellen’s words:

“It’s a Korean tradition that celebrates the first birthday. It is a big milestone (long ago many babies didn’t make it to their first birthday) and is celebrated with a huge party called the doljanchi, sharing food and wishes for a long life and fortune for the baby.

The highlight of the party is a ritual where the child is placed in front of a table of foods and objects such as string, books, money and rice. The child is urged to pick up an object and is believed that the object picked will foretell the child’s future. For example, if the child picks up a book, she is destined to be a scholar. If she picks up money, she will be wealthy. If the baby picks up thread, she will have a long life and if she picks the bowl of rice she will have an abundant life.”

Such a neat tradition that adds another layer of gorgeous to this party! I just love everything Ellen designed from the dessert table…

to the Dol ceremony….

And all the decorations that created atmosphere in the party!

Ellen truly did not miss a detail! Visit her website to see the rest of these wonderful party pictures!

The paisley paper party items seen in her party are now available in pink or purple in the Frog Prince Paperie store.

{Real Party} A Midwinter’s Pool Party

There are so many crafty and creative mommas around the net, and I’m really happy to have “met” this one in particular. Paula at JC’s Loft taught herself a new graphics program (no little feat) just so she could design her son’s party just the way she wanted it, and then came up with all this fabulousness for the event! I guess I should also mention that this pool party was thrown at an indoor waterpark in the middle of winter–how’s that for a creative party idea??

I’m a total sucker for witty labels

And creative use of food

The cake cracked me up – it’s her family done in Nilla Wafers!!

Everything was personalized just for her little man!

Yes, these are some gratuitous cake smashing pictures, but this is always my favorite part of the 1st birthday party. Looks like Cole was a performer! There are lots more pictures of all the details of this party over at JC’s Loft.

{Real Party} Fabulous Frog Prince (Customer!) Party

One of my favorite customers, Miss Maggie M., is a kindred southern spirit. She has a deep love for her family and friends, and that flair all southern women seem to be innately born with. I had the privilege of working with her to customize the frog prince set so she could throw a 1st birthday party for her precious little man! She is one dedicated momma and I was simply amazed at what she came up with with just a few files in her hands. Barrett is one lucky little boy!

Thanks to Eternal Reflections Photography for the beautiful birthday shots!

I loved this–she made her own enclosures for the 5×7 invitations. I think there may be a tutorial in the future on “enhancing” printable files thanks to this bit of inspiration! She used a monogram on the front, coordinating papers, and to polish everything off, some customized envelope wraps to match the invitation. So beautiful!

Thanks, Maggie, for sharing this special day!

{Real Party}: A Enchanted Fairy Tale First Birthday

This Fairy Tale first birthday was thrown by Sweet Pea Soirees in the DC Metro area for her daughter Gracyn. Everything about this party is whimsical–nothing is matchy matchy, but everything works together so well! Each little guest was given either fairy wings or dragon duds as they came into the party, and spent the afternoon enjoying a puppet show and some neat treats. Frog Prince Paperie was happy to be able to contribute the place cards for this event from the Butterfly Kisses line.

Love the little handmade toadstool cupcakes, and of course the birthday girl cupcake smash!

Friday’s Fabulous Five Fetes: Girly First Birthday Parties

There are so many great parties floating around–and so many places to find them. Instead of posting them up through the week, I’m going to try something new here, and showcase five really great ones every week on Fridays! This week, the theme is girly first birthdays.

First Birthday in a Flash

First up is this “First Birthday In a Flash” party by Elle Belle found via Bella Grace Designs. Im a huge fan of bright colors at birthdays, and this one had just the right balance! So many details in here, from the precious little photo cupcake topers, to the hand drawn tags, the guests creating a time capsule for the birthday girl, and my favorite, a great photo booth! There are many more pictures on her site.

A Day in the Garden

This “Day in the Garden” party comes from Hostess with the Mostess. What I love about this party is that the ingredients for it were all simple and easily sourced, but the way they were put together was pure style! Lots of lady bugs, flowers, and pinwheels throughout. Again, check out HWTM for the full photo set!

Pink and Ruffled First Birthday

The Birthday Girl showcased this precious pink and yellow first birthday party. Love the lollipop tree and the streamer display!

Flamingo First Birthday

Kara’s Party Ideas showed off this Pink Flamingo first birthday by Tiffany Cearley. Again, a very vibrant party that just happens to star one of my favorite Florida icons, the pink flamingo.

AC’s Lemonade Party

The pictures of this little girl and her lemons are so worth clicking over to see. Very very cute! AC’s Lemonade party comes from Pam Burrus. Nice little details abound–lemons and ribbon on drinking glasses, framed photos, tissue poufs and food displays.

Current Project: A Beach Baby Turns One

Right now, I am working on this darling ready-to-use set of party decorations for a customer and dear friend. Their littlest and last tot, Zoe, is turning one (already!!) next month and mom wants to make it extra special. The family’s complete and total love for the beach had to be part of the theme as they are throwing the party at their family beach house. So far, the plans include giant pinwheels, cupcakes, glittery birthday banners and shell garlands and a sandcastle or two. The invitation is hand glittered, and includes an envelope wrap (neatest idea ever!). I can’t wait to see all the pictures after the event!

Shabby Pink Piggie Party

One of my customers, Mary, was nice enough to share some pictures from the super cute party she threw for her daughter’s 1st birthday. The shabby pink piggie theme is so unique — and the little details she came up with to go along with the theme really made the party special.

Piggies were seen lounging about, no doubt having a good time…on the mantel, on the table, heck, they were even on the cupcakes! (Toppers purchased at The Birthday House.) There were even piggie bank party favors – Mary found ceramic piggie banks at Oriental Trading that the kids at the party had a fabulous time decorating with markers. She sent the little works of art home with the guests in pink chinese take out boxes.
Pink pastel Chinese lanterns, pig balloons, roses and gerber daisies also made for a polished piggie party atmosphere.
Mary recently discovered the wonders of Etsy, and had a ball outfitting the cutie patootie birthday girl from head to toe in personalized piggie pink. Her cupcake onsie and bib set  is from Make It Personal Monograms, the party hat from Embroidery and more,  and her tutu from Simply Sweet Shoppe.
And just to show this awesome Mom has a sense of humor, she served pulled pork bar-b-que to her guests for lunch, and a pink pig birthday cake for dessert!
