Parties always start with a little bit of inspiration from somewhere, whether it’s a theme, a favorite shirt, or in this case, a celebratory graduation stationery piece from Shutterfly. I just loved the glitter and bold colors in the invite; it just screamed party!  I took the colors of the invitation, red, gold, light blue, silver and black, and spread them through the graduation  printable patterns. The idea of the banner on the invitation is repeated throughout the details of the party. Our lucky grad, Ally, thought her party was pretty cool, too, with all the personal picture touches! And because we love celebrating big accomplishments, I’m going to be offering all the printables in this inspirational shoot to you for free over the course of the week. The centerpiece banner is free is in this post, scroll down for the link!

Using this sparkly graduation invitation as a jumping off point, I designed bunches of coordinating graphics that you can find here and here, as well as below.

Confetti poppers (tutorial soon!) made using push-up pops were tagged with a pretty sticker that says “Congratulations, Ally!” on the front from Shutterfly.

I think my favorite piece from Shutterfly I used in this party were the wall mount art. Photographs from a beach session with Ally mad for a perfect party backdrop, and she gets to hang them up at home after the party is over! Can’t wait to get some of these made for a few of my favorite family photos. I used a 16×20 and 12×12 boards to make the backdrop, then framed it with a tissue tassel garland. You can download the “Celebrate Class of 2014″ 16×20 poster here, and upload it to Shutterfly to print, or take it to somewhere that does wide-format printing.

There were a few extra invitations, so I used them to make signs for the table centerpieces. See the tutorial on how to make these graduation centerpieces here.

Through Shutterfly, I also was able to create some glitter-themed address labels. Instead of personalizing the labels with an address, I customized them with a congratulatory message for Ally, and then used them to top off little favor bags for our guests. They’re easy to make, and I give a quick how-to and free printables for the hershey kiss stickers here.

On our dessert buffet, we served up some silver sprinkled donuts and a chocolate sprinkle cake. Donut holes with a unique presentation are irresistible, and mini-meringues fill martini glasses on the side.

Tiny circles do double duty as hershey kiss stickers and as fun confetti for our party tables. Most graduation parties tend to be casual affairs without full-fledged place settings, so we just made up more fun centerpieces to spruce them up and let people sit where they may.

We're down to the last days before Halloween...and if you're anything like me, you're still looking for ideas for that last little gathering or class party idea that wins you the mom of the year award. I'm sure you've heard of the company Evite unless you've been living on the moon or in a cave for the last few years (in which case, I would love to hear that story--email me!). They've now { Read More! }

boy fairy tale party-1

We were so excited to have Elissa of One Stone Events contribute to the summer issue of Festivities Magazine. Her fairy tale mash-up party is definitely a new favorite of mine! I worked with her to develop some new, unique printables for her event, and Nicole of Tikkido.com helped with darling Peter Pan inspired bunting and Pan hats. Of course, there was a whole cast of talented vendors that { Read More! }

motorcycle low-50

My son's birthday party is my favorite one that I throw all year. Boy parties are challenging. No pink, no fluff, just down and dirty wholesome boy goodness. That can be fun if you let it! After some gentle steering from his father, our kiddo was quite enthusiastic about paying homage to motorcycles. For weeks before (and after!) the party all conversations focused around motorcycles in one way or { Read More! }

Aston2012004

Last year, Lili from Swanky :: Chic :: Fete  created an amazing soccer birthday party for her little man Aston's 4th birthday. I was more than excited to be able to be a part of her creative process to mark the occasion for Aston turning 5! This year, Aston is into super powers. There wasn't a favorite superhero, per se, so Lili decided to celebrate all of them and used the Superhero printable set { Read More! }
