DIY Fairy Princess Headband Kid Craft

Busy hands go a long way to keeping happy kids! In this month’s Craft Lightning series, we’re all about kid craft projects to keep children occupied! The DIY fairy princess headband craft in this post serves two purposes:

  1. Your kids will be able to get crafty for a little bit.
  2. Your kids will have something to use their imaginations with for a long time.

Ergo, occupied kids.

This quick kid craft to make a DIY fairy headband will keep the kids entertained for hours! Pick your favorite ribbon and flowers to make.

Once you have the headband part complete, kids will generally be able to take off on their own doing the decorating part.

How to Make a DIY Fairy Princess Headband

You can use old Christmas ribbon (or any ribbon you have laying around) to make the headbands. Add in inexpensive curling ribbon and some dollar-store flowers and you’ll have a happy fairy princess.

Materials:

  • 3 feet of wired ribbon
  • 4 foot sections of curling ribbon
  • Tulle
  • Satin ribbons
  • Silk flowers

Take the wire ribbon and twist it as in the picture below so it forms a thin band.

At the midpoint of your bunch of ribbons, tie them around the knot in the headband. This is better done all at once, but letting the kids tie them on one by one will take more time.

My granddaughter is 11 and at the know it all phase. Oh how I wish I could convince her that she still needs one of these! I'm saving this one just in case.

Ha! I am not glad per-se that I am not the only one, but there is some relief that I am not alone! My 10 year old did totally play with this when no one else was looking. :)
