Halloween Treat Tutorial: Mini-Push Pop Oreo Cookie Shots

Push pops are wildly popular at parties now–you can fit all kind of sweet and interesting things in a fun to eat tube! I was so excited to see that push pops now come in miniature sizes, which opens up a whole range of possibilities for creative desserts. Since it’s such a small size (3/4 ounce) it’s just enough to fill with a little bite. For my first experiment, I used Oreo truffle filling. These are pretty divine in their truffle form, and were just about perfect for these mini-push pop tubes.

OREO COOKIE TRUFFLE PUSH POP SHOTS

1 package Oreos

1 8oz block cream cheese, softened

White chocolate almond bark

Sprinkles

Candy decorative topper

Mini push pop tubes

Put the entire package of oreos into the food processor and process until the oreos are crumbly. Toss in the block of cream cheese and process again until thoroughly combined. Put in the refrigerator until the mixture is firm. This will make it easier to put into the tubes.

Fill each of the tubes with the Oreo mix.

Dip the top of the tube in the melted white chocolate almond bark and quickly roll in your choice of sprinkles. The chocolate will seal the top, the sprinkles will make it pretty!

The tubes are perfect for a little embellishing on top. I bought these sugar pumpkins at Michael’s, but you can use just about anything edible! At the Black Cat Ball, I used cats made from royal icing. Dip the bottoms slightly in the chocolate and place on top of the tubes to adhere your decoration.

My kids were crazy about these little pops;  I am sure they will be wildly popular with any little (or big!) one. I can’t wait to see what kind of things the blogosphere comes up with to put in these! Cookie dough truffles, layered creamy frosting shots, maybe something frozen?? So many possibilities.
