A Valentines Day treat box that you can whip up in minutes is likely about three to four weeks out of site and out of mind right now. Don’t worry, it really is for me, too, but the internet likes you to be a bit ahead of the game here. I started thinking about Valentines Day right about the same time I was cleaning out my garage and unearthed a box of party props from my infamous Birdie Baby Shower. Man, I loved that party. That big box of birdhouses got me to thinking about birds and love, which I believe is going to be my theme for all things Valentines Day this year. I’m working through some ideas, the first of which you can see in my guest post on Made From Pinterest that was totally inspired by the Birdie Baby Shower as well.
If you have a few special friends or family members in your life, you might want to gift something small to them (like a few choice candies–chocolate and gourmet if anyone is asking) on V-day. A pretty Valentines Day treat box is the perfect gift-giving vehicle, and one decked like a tiny birdhouse will be especially awesome. Tweet, even. Read on for the Craft Lightening how-to.
Valentine Treat Box How to
Materials:
- Stiff white Cardstock
- Free Printable Valentine Bird House Box Template
- Glue stick
- Ribbon
- 5 minutes
These bird house treat boxes are wicked quick to make and especially cute for the season with the hand-painted watercolor details on them. Just print out the file onto the cardstock, cut it out, and fold along all the lines. To make it stay box shaped, glue the tab on the side to the inside of the box, fold the flaps up and glue them down as you go. For the top of this milk-carton style box, just punch two holes in the top to string your ribbon through. Or staple or grommet the top closed–creativity is encouraged!
I swear, the whole process takes less than five minutes if your printer was made after 1984…and makes this a part of Valentines Day Craft Lightening! Do visit Country Chic Cottage and 30 Minute Crafts for more quick as lightening Valentines craft projects below:
