{Real Party} Spa Birthday Party – Maddie Turns 6!

{Real Party} Spa Birthday Party – Maddie Turns 6!

After seeing everything that goes on with mom’s job all year long, my daughter Madeline takes her birthday very seriously. All the bells and whistles must be pulled out and there must be much celebrating–and cake–involved in whatever we do.

This year, Maddie wanted to do something besides the at-home parties we’ve done for the last few years. Of course this was a bit scary for me, as venturing out of the house for a massive and quick part set up is a highly difficult endeavor. Until I relaxed for a minute and realized I didn’t really have to do all that, and that Madeline would be thrilled to bits with a fairly normal party with a bit of bling thrown in. She chose to have manicures and pedicures with 9 of her closest friends, so off to the nail salon, Nails in the City Nail Bar, we went!

I kept the decorations really simple for this party–and they were just enough to bring a little pink and purple glittery life into the salon without being a huge amount of work. Each girl got a specially made pair of pedicure slippers to wear while they got their toes painted–these tied off with each girls’ name in a big basket next to the footpaths brightened the area.

There was also a table full of the goodie bags, graciously crafted by the talented Southern Belle’s Charm, with a personalized sign in a fancy frame. Another table had a very small sampling of candies and cookies for the girls to pick at while waiting for their “appointments.”

Madeline was very excited to pull out her birthday tiara from last year, created by Tradewind Tiaras and wear it on her special day!

For food, we ordered pizzas for everyone and had a few desserts on hand. Madeline requested Sherry Almond Pie, her favorite, along with cookies from The Hungry Hippopotamus and a cake pop cake inspired by Posh Parties, LLC.

All the little fingers and all the little toes were painted and the girls were so thrilled with their “spa” experience. Sometimes low-key is a great thing, and all you need are a few special touches to make something truly memorable!
