Mustache Bash Baby Shower {Real Party}

mustache baby shower-30

My friend Richelle is just one of those people that is a ray of sunshine wherever she goes and lights up the lives of those around her. I’m guessing it’s all the sun and water she got growing up in the Florida Keys. The minute she let us know she was expecting another little one, I got excited to start planning out her baby shower. Richelle thought the whole idea of these mustache parties was a real hoot, so it was the hands-down choice for a theme. You can see the party in the Summer 2013 issue of Festivities Magazine.

When you’re throwing a mustache bash, it’s really {really!} difficult to not slap a mustache on everything in the house that doesn’t move. I did it anyway, because I am not going to get another opportunity like this again!

For favors, we made mustached pint glasses. I totally love mine! They are made with vinyl mustache cut-outs and blank pint glasses. I made a chalkboard tray for them to sit it with some mustache witticisms.

Remember what I said about putting a mustache on anything that stood still long enough? Babies, buck (the deer head my husband loathes), signs, cookies, cupcakes…you name it!

Even the floral arrangements got ‘stashed! Florals by Buds, Etc. here in Melbourne, FL.

Instead of one giant dessert/food table, I used some shelving from my family room to set out treats. I was inspired to cook for this party and make all the food really memorable–so more time was devoted to the savory items than the desserts. In the next post, I’ll start going over the menu for this event! For now, enjoy the food porn.

This is the butter crunch cake that almost didn’t make it. The tea cart toppled right before the party and I had to do emergency surgery to save part of it!

This was such a fun party to be at–the mom to be was thrilled, and the participants enthusiastic about tattooing on finger-staches and playing silly baby games.
The printables for this party are available in the shop here and are perfect for a mustache bash baby shower or mustache bash birthday!

    I am planning my sons 1st birthday. This was the theme chosen….mustaches, and I love these ideas. What kinds of packages are there to choose from?

Meet Paula

My father came home from a trip for work when I was a little girl toting a huge (to me) book of fairy tales. I was instantly smitten with the beautiful illustrations and the stories that came alive from those worn pages. My favorite was always the frog prince…my mother read it to me over and over (and over.) Read More…
