I thought a little real party inspiration might be in order, even though we may be several weeks away from seeing any new halloween parties!
{A Very Vintage Halloween}
A stylishly dark party, a little gothic, a little victorian, was thrown in Beverly Hills last year by JL Designs (found via the Entertain Exchange) with a Very Vintage Halloween theme. The whole staged area comprised of thrifted pieces in lifeless colors that were paired with flowers to make for a perfect eerie halloween setting. The dessert table was done in muted colors, but created a stunning effect. The lighting of the table looks as big a part of the design as the individual desserts, pumpkins and candlesticks on the table. Delightfully spooky!
{Nevermore!}
As one of those crazy people who scoops up all the special edition Halloween magazines every year and pours for hours over every one, I can tell you this was probably the most creative mock-party (by Better Homes and Gardens) I saw in all the glossy pages I thumbed through. Perhaps it’s because we are living with our very own flock of ravens in our front rooms this Halloween or due to my love of a party with smart literary references that I love this one so much. The smallest details were attended to and it provided lots of ideas to {ahem} borrow.
{Pink-o-ween}
And for something completely new and different! Halloween has gotten glammed up this year…I’m seeing quite a few table designs going totally glittered and veering away from the traditional orange and black. I love it! Featured on Amy Atlas, Pizzazerie offered up this Pink-o-ween party full of glitz, sparkles and PINK!
