Halloween Day 7: A Candy Alternative

I am extremely thankful every year when I can package up the Halloween candy (the kids’ and the leftovers) and send it into the ER with my husband where he works so that the hospital staff can enjoy it, rather than it having stick around the house where I have to hide it from the kids or where it would find a permanent home somewhere unsightly on my body. So I’m all for sugar-free treats that are actually fun for the kids for Halloween favors or trick-or-treating. No, I would never be that house that gives out toothbrushes, pennies or boxes of raisins, but if it’s a cool, creative way to reduce the sugar load I say do it!

At eighteen25, there is a guest post complete with beautiful pictures by Ashley Ann Photography for making great little favor bags with homemade playdough…something I’m sure we’ve all made at some point. I just never thought to package it so attractively and give it as gifts! Easy to do, fun to play with and calorie-free. Great idea!
