Hot Chocolate for a Cold Day

Hot Chocolate for a Cold Day

This morning, it was 82 degrees here in Florida as the rest of the weather map for the country was painted in ever-darkening blues and snowflakes. (I know, don’t kill me!) Odd here for January, really. But come nightfall, a front came through and dropped the temperatures to a chilly (to me) temperature. Which made me long for a cup of hot cocoa.

So I went to the cabinet to find some…and every pouch, every powdered jar, every hot-chocolate-on-a-stick was gone and the kids asleep so there was no hope of an emergency dash to Starbucks to scratch that chocolate itch. Viva la pinterest! I gathered up a few very interesting looking recipes for hot chocolate to give a shot. These parties have been very popular this year and last (I threw one ,too!) and I just love seeing new twists on old favorites.

1. Spiced Hot Chocolate on a Stick by Sprinkles Bakes 2. Hot Chocolate on a Stick by Whipperberry 3. Mexican Spiced Hot Chocolate by Gimme Some Oven 4. Truffle Hot Chocolate Balls by Mel’s Kitchen Cafe 5. Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Chocolate craving – satisfied. My dark chocolate bars made for the perfect cuppa. Click over to see the full recipes!
