Operation Shower – Birdies for the Brave Event

Several months ago, I had the true privilege to be able to volunteer with Operation Shower once again. Wonderful emotion, beautiful styling, and lots of creativity went into this baby shower event with volunteers from all over the state of Florida. And if you’re up for throwing a vintage nautical party or military party, these designer tables are just full of inspiration. The printables at this shower were designed by the lovely Kori Clark from Paper and Pigtails.

Operation shower’s table was full of old military patches, toy cars and planes and red white and blue patriotism.

Since this was a “designer’s challenge” event, every table was styled by a different designer. Mine was truly a group effort, and I can’t thank Buds, Etc. Floral Design Studio for the flowers or Contemporary Cake Studio for the strawberry shortcake favors enough!

The starting point for inspiration for the table was a bag of vintage military buttons. I used them as subtle accents around the table and on the bunting-inspired chair backs.

Another beautiful table full of whimsy and dandelions by MIA Styling!

This table was designed by the PGA tour. I really loved this one; I’m a huge fan of hydrangeas! There was a tiny onesie tied into the napkin ring at each setting.

This table by Pinapple Post was my favorite. The little paper boats with the “lifesaver” bouys were such a witty touch!

Also bursting with creativity was this table by Suzanne from Fanciful Events. Loved (LOVED!) The cute little sailor tutu!

Let’s Get this Party Started designed a lovely table with vintage accents like old letters written home by soldiers.

A table by Pom Flair with nautical charm

And a table by Simply Chic with floral loveliness.

No shower is complete without a dessert bar! The Cake Blog provided the styling and many of the treats on the table. The beautiful rustic-looking cake came from Love and Sugar Kisses.

There were so many wonderful gifts for the moms to bring home. So exciting to see so many p

Meet Paula

My father came home from a trip for work when I was a little girl toting a huge (to me) book of fairy tales. I was instantly smitten with the beautiful illustrations and the stories that came alive from those worn pages. My favorite was always the frog prince…my mother read it to me over and over (and over.) Read More…
