Operation Shower is an organization whose work is near and dear to my heart. Growing up a military kid myself, I’ve seen what sacrifices military wives along with the rest of their family units must make while their soldiers are away. It’s nice the there are groups out there like Operation Shower that can bring a little love and caring and appreciation to military moms-to-be while spouses are out on deployment by hosting beautiful baby showers that provide everything a new little one needs.
But the fact is, they need a lot of support from the rest of us in order to keep their baby showers going! No matter how many ways you slice it, party props, food and venues aren’t free, and the wonderful sponsorships they have don’t cover 100% of what they need to keep throwing showers. In this season of giving, and in thanksgiving for the freedoms we are so fortunate to have, consider a donation through Operation Shower’s Party. Support. Love. initiative. You will touch the lives of other mothers like you will never know! You can check out the organization’s YouTube channel to see just how much your donations are appreciated.
Speaking of touching lives, I had the chance to help out with a shower in Ponte Vedra Beach in September. It was such fun working on the graphics for this “Journey of Love”; the theme was based around some vintage travel postcards to beachy destinations. But I will let the pictures speak for themselves!
There were 40 really happy moms that went home from this shower–with arms full of things for baby and hearts full from a great day! Thank you to all the donors and their generosity that made this event possible.
