Supermom Mother’s Day Brunch: A Party Guide for Dads and Kids

This post is sponsored by Hallmark and Walgreens. All thoughts, opinions and ideas are my own.  #HallmarkAtWalgreens  #CareWithACard
Super-Mom-Brunch

One of the great Mother’s Day traditions that seems to have evolved over the years is the ritual of Mother’s Day brunch. The funny thing about this to me has always been that mom is supposed to step out of the kitchen for the day and the family is supposed to take over all the cooking and planning responsibility.

Which is why Mother’s Day brunch is usually something done at a restaurant–but if you can’t get yourself a reservation at somewhere you want to go (we never can!) Dad and the kids need a plan B to put together something nice for Mom! So I’m happy to help out those dads with with a do-it-with-your-kids guide to Mother’s Day Brunch.

And honestly? I love this even more, because it’s something put together by my family’s generous hearts.

Now, I know for a fact there are a great many very talented men out there who are whizzes in the kitchen and crafty kings. This guide is not so much for them. They’ve got this. For dads that may need a bit of step-by-step instruction and a few ideas along the away to make something special for Mother’s Day brunch, you are who I am talking to!

Show You Care on Mother’s Day with a Hallmark Signature Card!

First thing to do in advance is to head out to pick up a few Mother’s day cards and maybe a little gift–Walgreen’s always has a great selection of Hallmark Select cards to choose from and can be your one-stop-shop. The cards are always my favorite part of the day. It’s funny to see the sense of humor and sentiment my kids have through the cards I know they painstakingly pick.

Every holiday, they read every card in the store before they choose just the right one. Mother’s Day is no different.

And Dad, while you’re there staring at all those fabulous Hallmark cards, don’t forget a card for your lovely wife from you as well. When you get home, make sure the cards are all signed and loved on so you can give them to mom at brunch!

My hooligans loved the makes-a-lot-of-noise Super Mom card over all the others, and that seemed an excellent jumping off point for brunch. They really got into the idea of this theme, so I ran with it. I am just going to take a wild guess that MOST kids are going to be excited about a superhero theme, even if it is a superhero for mom theme done in shades of pink.

You’ve eliminated all of the guesswork and made this very easy. The menu is one that I would love every week but that may be a bit much. Thanks for sharing the adorable pics of your kids. Happy Mother’s Day!

Meet Paula

My father came home from a trip for work when I was a little girl toting a huge (to me) book of fairy tales. I was instantly smitten with the beautiful illustrations and the stories that came alive from those worn pages. My favorite was always the frog prince…my mother read it to me over and over (and over.) Read More…
