Valentine’s Day Wall Art – Glitter and Stripes!

I had the chance to work with Made From Pinterest recently on their Love Potion #9 series, where I made up a little  Valentine’s Day Wall Art.

After hemming and hawing for a bit over what I would do, I decided the big blank wall over my couch could use some holiday spirit. The original Valentine’s Day wall art inspiration for my post comes from Hey Lauren Rene and her pin for this DIY Glitter LOVE Canvas.  You can see the pin on my Valentine’s Day board!

It was massively easyto make. I am talking less than 30 minutes with drying time. And no real painting skill required. You can see how I put it together over on my post at Made from Pinterest.

I was SO excited about how fabulously flawless that my canvas turned out,  I completely spaced on an all important step in my eagerness to see my work of art complete…sealing the glitter on the letters. Word to the wise, only skip the sealing part if you want a trail of glitter dust following you around the house and all over your furniture as you’re hanging your canvas up or trying to take pictures of it.

While browsing for Valentine’s Day projects on Pinterest, I also ran across these cute heart-shaped pillows from Design Love Fest. Mine were pretty much a fail, as I got a little wild with my template and the curves of my hearts were way too big, and the template too small for a good size pillow. Even though they weren’t perfect, they are a nice pop of color in my otherwise white room.

I also DIY’d a cupid’s arrow in black and gold to go along with my Valentine’s theme. The tip is a pretty heart locket I buffed gold, that I may have put a picture of my sweetie in. Along with the LOVE canvas, my living room wall is ready to bring on the hearts and flowers of Valentine’s Day!

Love the wall art Paula, it turned out fabulous and I’m always a fan of black & white stripes! The new site looks great as well! I’m in the process and re-doing mine & switching to a new URL and can’t wait for it to be done finally!

Meet Paula

My father came home from a trip for work when I was a little girl toting a huge (to me) book of fairy tales. I was instantly smitten with the beautiful illustrations and the stories that came alive from those worn pages. My favorite was always the frog prince…my mother read it to me over and over (and over.) Read More…
