Fishing Party Favor for Grown Ups

Fishing Party Favor for Grown Ups

My father’s birthday was last week, and I’ve been thinking about him a bit. My earliest memories of dad are of him standing on a boat, sweet smelling cigar and fishing rod in hand. I know for a fact his cigars were allowed nowhere near the house, so that’s probably why they were an away from my mother and on the water activity. In honor of his birthday, I’ve got a special little fishing party favor idea put together that’s perfect to celebrate any angler’s birthday. I call it my “Fishing Emergency Kit.”

The large majority of the fishermen I know use fishing as an excuse to socialize while throwing back a few, smoking a stogie, and getting their fishing lines wet. The fish themselves seem to be frosting if there are any that come home or get caught at all.  With this in mind, I packed together what might be needed if a fishing emergency broke out.

The cigars I used are called “Havana Honeys” — they come two to a pack in a few different flavors: original, cognac, sweet honey and spiced rum. Since these cigars are so very affordable, they are perfect to use in putting together party favors! To sign up for free coupons and to find a retailer near you visit Havana Honeys website here.

To make a sure-to-be-appreciated “Fishing Emergency Kit,” find a few clear containers, and fill them with fishing essentials. Here I used two Havana Honeys, an airplane bottle of adult beverage, and a shiny new fishing lure. If you want to add some plastic worms, bobbers, hooks, or other fun stuff to your kits, go for it! Your only limit is the size of your container.

My clear tubes seen here are 6 inches tall. I’m pretty sure if you wanted, you could substitute a mason jar and make up some great emergency kits!

To finish the fishing kits up, I tied on this free printable tag with a little twine (download the file here.) Just print to plain white cardstock, cut them out, and you’re ready to arm your fishing friends with a few emergency rations!

The clear tubes I got at PaperMart.com...but I had to buy a bunch of them. I'd be willing to sell a few off if you need less than 50! Just send me an email, Jenni - paula (at) frogprincepaperie (dot) com. Mason jars would also work well for this.
