The other day we were browsing through the annals of Amazon Prime looking for a good family movie to watch, and we stumbled across the old slapstick “Get Smart” TV spy show made into a movie. Tons of this show went straight over the kids’ head, but boy did they love it. All the spy stuff and snooping around was fascinating–as were the rows and rows of file cabinets and telephones with cords and dials. (Nothing like explaining the ancient tech you grew up with to make you feel old!)
No matter the time period, playing secret agent is incredibly fun. Covert spy operations in the backyard, creating uncrackable codes and completing impossible missions is just pure kid gold. And where there is fun, there is usually a really great birthday theme waiting to be celebrated.
Doing a little Throwback Thursday here, as the little man in these pics will be celebrating 10 soon, but had to share what was a pretty spectacular Spy Birthday Party by my good friend Natalie at Southern Belle’s Charm. She been know to out-do herself when it comes to her son’s parties, and this one was no different. There were bombs, and secret briefings, field training (with nerf guns!) and so many details it’s hard to catch them all.
Natalie is not one to leave anything to chance, so she thoroughly plans these parties to keep the kids engaged in activities from beginning to end. Be sure to catch all the pictures and details over on the Southern Belle’s Charm blog!
Ice cream on gun shaped ice and shoe phone favor boxes–how cool are those?? Just love all these spy birthday party ideas from Natalie.
