Part of what makes my job so fun is getting to see the amazing pictures that my clients send of their parties. Kristen sent in this “Mermaid and Scuba Divers” twist on the mermaid in my shop. She created amazing atmosphere and detail throughout the party for her little mermaid girl’s 4th birthday party.
As a backdrop for her little mermaid’s dessert and lunch table, Kristen created this ruffly, seaweed inspired crepe paper curtain. It’s hanging on a pvc pipe stand, and she says she originally found the idea and tutorial at HowDoesShe.com. What a great way to create an underwater feel!
I love how she kept all the food within the mermaid theme – saltwater taffy, goldfish, fishies in jello, and she even cut out peanut butter sandwiches into jellyfish shapes and made octopus hotdogs for the kids! Another neat touch was using sparkly paper to back the printable labels for a little extra bling.
The water ice bucket here cracked me up. How funny is that giant fish? Kristen also had some water bottle labels customized for the party for the water and gatorade she was serving.
And boy oh, boy did Kristen keep the kids busy during this mermaid party! All the little scuba divers and mermaids got to dig for sea shells, create sand art, play in a giant inflatable water slide and raid a treasure chest for jewels.
And I just love this special headband Kristen’s friend Samantha from Crafty Texas Girls made for mermaid Hallie’s birthday outfit!
Another custom item that was created just for Hallie’s party are these signs that Kristen was able to type into herself and print to a large format printer for all the stations and activities at the party.
Kristen did a phenomenal job on all the decorations, food and activities, but I think my favorite detail are the party favors! She made 35 mermaid tails and 10 scuba tanks for the kids, which they are still playing with months later.
Thanks again, Kristen, for the amazing photos!
