Smart Cookie Jar Teacher Appreciation Gift in 10 Minutes (or less!)

It’s been a fantastically fast school year, and it’s almost time to love and adore those wonderful teachers that grow our children’s little minds. I’d venture to say most of us are huge on gratitude and short on time to show said gratitude. As part of Craft Lightning with Crafty Hangouts, here’s a way to say thank you in less than 10 minutes with a Cookie Jar Teacher Appreciation Gift.

Bonus–the free printables can be customized with your teacher’s name! I’ve included a few options on the tags in case you need a 5 minute project or don’t want the jars personalized. You can find the paper flowers at most craft stores. I found these in the dollar bins at Micheal’s.

How to Make a Cookie Jar Teacher Appreciation Gift

Materials:

  • Free printable Smart Cookie tags
  • White Cardstock
  • Small Cookie Jar or Medium Mason Jar
  • 1-inch or Larger Ribbon
  • Pre-made paper flowers

Download the free printable smart cookie teacher appreciation tags. As I mentioned, you can type your child’s teacher’s name right on these to make them really custom! After you’re done personalizing, print the tags to white cardstock. There are options for you in the file–you don’t have to use them all, there’s just a little room for creativity if you want it!

Band your jar with ribbon. That means cut a piece of ribbon long enough to go around your jar and fasten it in place with doublestick tape or hot glue (maybe even some heavy duty glue dots!)

Glue on a paper flower or two.

Adhere one of the paper circles to the top of the jar. It’s a 2.5 inch circle if you’re using a scrapbook punch!

Now, you can can stop here and it’s perfectly lovely gift! Or you can continue on.

Use the custom cookie jar label for the top.

Then glue the flag shaped tag so it’s tucked underneath the flowers onto the jar. Fill your pretty jar with some cookies (store-bought are OK!!) and it’s ready to give! In less than 10 minutes!

Craft Lighting is so awesome this month because there is not one, but forty (40!!) different teacher appreciation ideas available. Be sure to click the link below to see the rest.

What a lovely idea, I really love the colours on the labels. I think I will make some for the teachers and TAs at my little girls nursery.

Meet Paula

My father came home from a trip for work when I was a little girl toting a huge (to me) book of fairy tales. I was instantly smitten with the beautiful illustrations and the stories that came alive from those worn pages. My favorite was always the frog prince…my mother read it to me over and over (and over.) Read More…
