{Real Party} It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

My friend Karrie has two children born very close together. And since they’re still young, a joint party for them both makes it a bit easier on her. This year she wanted to do an “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” theme for the kids so they would have another chance to wear their Charlie Brown and Lucy costumes. This was the first time I have helped style a party for someone else–and I was pretty happy with Karrie and I’s efforts!

We used my “Happy Fall” set and did some customization for her party…I gave Karrie all the files, and she made the banners and other paper good all by herself! She also did a great job of following the sketches I drew out of all the decorations and  had everything set when the team and I showed up to help put things in place the morning of the party.

Straw bales, Charlie Brown, ghosts, pumpkins and brightly colored poms greeted the guests as they walked into the park’s picnic shelter.

Karrie didn’t want the kids over-sugared given the next day was Halloween, so desserts were kept simple with cupcakes, candied apples, oatmeal cookies, popcorn balls and some candy corn.

There were lots of yummy things for lunch, including pumpkin shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids.

The kids sat down to place settings complete with pumpkins, lollipop favors and coloring books. The lollipops were a HUGE hit.

And Karrie definitely knows how to keep the kids busy! There was a Snoopy magnet coloring activity, a bounce house, and bean bag toss. She also made Martha’s pumpkin balloon pop game, but as kids do, they had their own agendas and there were squeals of delight as all the kids just sat and stomped on the balloons to pop them and get the candy inside out.

With the beautiful weather, good company, and Mom’s hard work, Reece & John had a very happy birthday!

Hi,this is Karrie’s Mom. Could you possibly send Karrie higher resolution copies of the party pictures so she could send them to me to print? They’re great!

Where can I purchase the Charlie Brown printables? I have been looking to have a Great Pumpkin party for my daughter, but have not been able to find the Charlie Brown character images. This is EXACTLY what I had in mind! Awesome job!

Meet Paula

My father came home from a trip for work when I was a little girl toting a huge (to me) book of fairy tales. I was instantly smitten with the beautiful illustrations and the stories that came alive from those worn pages. My favorite was always the frog prince…my mother read it to me over and over (and over.) Read More…
